Daventry tries out cybercar system
26/9/2007 BBC Cybercars – small, tracked, driver-less vehicles like mini taxis to get give acces to congested areas. The European Commission research group CityMobil is involved a a trial scheme, one of several across Europe. The car is called by pressing a button on the route and it will go to various destinations on tracked system. Cybercars are designed for short trips at low speed in an urban environment and need only a very light track to operate.
